WHAT’S NEW AT CHANNEL THREE PRODUCTIONS?
Channel Three Productions continues to add new cameras to our arsenal, including our recent 4K Sony RX-10 DSLR, which films up to 120 frames per second in 1080p and has a servo zoom lens, audio and headphone inputs. We’ll continue to offer our Panasonic GH2 and Canon 5D DSLR as well as our two Panasonic HVX-200 camcorders and our two Go Pro Heroes.
AND THE TELLY AWARD GOES TO…. LA TORRETTA LAKE RESORT & SPA!
Our latest Telly Award was in the category of Travel/Tourism for our video on this picturesque resort on Lake Conroe. To capture all the activities on this Texas retreat, we had several cameras rolling including 2 DSLR’s, snapping video and stills, another for time lapse and 2 Go Pros with underwater housing for all the water slides and lake activities. A fit, fun and photo-worthy cast of 6 were provided by the Neal Hamil Agency of Houston.
Food has always been a priority, from our Taste of Addison restaurant video tours, to our current associations with food and lifestyle websites such as Foodable Web TV and CultureMap. Our new association with CultureMap, gave us the chance to create digital stories about some of Dallas’ most interesting places and people such as Chef Dean Fearing, Old Chicago, Start Restaurant and some of the best social events in Dallas. Through Foodable Web TV we took viewers on a video tour of the top Dallas restaurants including Lucia’s, The Blind Butcher, Abacus and Pecan Lodge BBQ. Earlier in the year, we visited Café Momentum, the popup inside Wolfgang Puck’s 560 atop the Hyatt Regency tower that is staffed by at-risk youth as part of program to create new opportunities for them.
The past year we added a client with billions and billions of customers of their own! Yes, McDonald’s became one of our tastiest customers, as we produced videos on best restaurant practices as well as put all the media material together for their national meeting that played in Cinemark Theaters across the country!
IT’S A PRIVILEGE TO SERVE – DALLAS COUNTY
The at-risk youth program at Cafe Momentum is just one of the many ways the Dallas County Juvenile Justice Advisory Board seeks to give young offenders a new start. After having produced the jury duty video for Dallas County Jury Services and a parent awareness video for Dallas County Juvenile Justice, we completed a public service announcement highlighting Dallas County’s programs for at-risk youth.
IT’S A PRIVILEGE TO SERVE – STATE OF IDAHO
While it’s quite a journey from Dallas to Idaho, we’ve been awarded 4 videos for the State of Idaho’s Real Estate Commission’s informational series on real estate law since 2012. These videos are driven by role-plays, requiring excellent acting and directing, so IREC chose to contract with Channel Three Productions and film 3 of those videos in Dallas, leveraging our contacts within the excellent local talent pool. Only in “Rules of the Road” did we film the mock-passenger safety video aboard a trolley in Boise, Idaho. The 2016 video, just completed in Dallas was “Dual Agency: A Balancing Act.”
Our 2-year contract with BARA/Parkland on the new Parkland Hospital will undoubtedly be an important part of our company’s legacy. Over 50 training videos and public awareness videos were created over that span including a looped time-lapse video of the historic facility’s construction on permanent display in the new hospital’s museum area of the lobby. Several of the key partner construction companies in BARA/Parkland still work with Channel Three, notably Balfour Beatty and Austin Industries. Currently, we are completing several dozen new training videos for Austin Industries.
MCKESSON SPECIALTY HEALTH/US ONCOLOGY – POWERFUL CANCER RESEARCH TOOLS
Channel Three Productions is proud to have partnered with US Oncology and their parent company, McKesson Specialty Health since 2011, on a myriad of projects describing their wide patient network for cancer research programs, as well as their programs that share information between oncologists and Cancer patients. We also produced several feature and benefit videos on software tools McKesson has developed for oncologists as well as informational videos on cancer drugs developed by pharmaceutical partners. Our latest video focused on a new drug developed by Pfizer and was filmed with noted oncologist, Dr. Voglezang in Las Vegas on a large green screen stage.
RANDOM HOUSE PUBLISHING – AUTHOR SOLUTIONS SINCE 2010
Since 2010, we have worked with Random House’s author video division, Author Solutions, on over 3 dozen author/book videos, including authors such as Matthew Knowles (Destiny’s Child), Lee Brown (Former Houston Mayor, Police Chief and Drug Czar) and many other writers with expertise in various fields. Through Random House, we have also produced many videos for many educational uses such as the Audio Publisher’s Association’s guidance on using audio books in the classroom and The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis Power of Children Awards.
GIVING BACK WITH HILTON WORLDWIDE GLOBAL WEEK OF SERVICE
For 5 consecutive years, Channel Three has partnered with Hilton Worldwide on Global Service Projects. Coincidentally, many of these refurbishing projects have been the same Dallas County Juvenile Justice facilities for at-risk youth we have shown in outreach videos for Dallas County. During Global Week of Service, Hilton simultaneously conducts similar service projects throughout the world and our footage and photos in Dallas are combined with those of other service projects to create one impactful video testament to the power of giving back.
ONGOING TV WORK, OUR EXPANDING NETWORK OF TV NETWORKS
For almost a decade, Brad Ruekberg, Channel Three Productions President has served as Field Producer and Director of Photography on a host of nationally-syndicated television shows and news websites and that network of networks keeps expanding. Since 2008, we have fielded crews for over 80 segments of “World’s Greatest” (ION), 30 segments of “21st Century Business Report” (FOX Business News), plus many other shows on Travel, ABC Family, Discover, and more. Since 2015, we have shot and field produced over 50 segments for “Worldwide Business with kathy ireland.” We represent these TV shows not only throughout Texas, but Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas and even as far away as Monterrey, Mexico.
In 2017, we also completed many online news projects for publications as diverse as Circa/The Sinclaire Group and Al Jazeera. Our role as journalists is to get to the truth of a story, no matter who we are filming for.
Here’s an example of an al Jazeera story we shot and field produced on Texas adoption laws:
When Hurricane Harvey hit our neighbors in Houston, Channel Three Productions was there documenting the destruction and listening to survivor and rescue worker stories on behalf of The Weather Channel, Telemundo and NBC-5 Weather. Our weather expertise is enhanced by our “brother-publication”, “Newswatch Dallas”, written by Paul Ruekberg.
NEWEST MEMBERS OF OUR CORPORATE CLIENT LIST:
In the past year, we feel blessed to be adding several prominent names to our corporate client list. Southwest Airlines had us produce “Game of Hearts,” a GOT spoof that was as much fun to work on as it was to watch. We produced multiple projects for Dent Squad, a paint-less dent repair shop that saturates social media with new video ads, promos and contests. We also partnered with Rally House on photos and video including the popular :60 seconds with Seguin clips starring Tyler Seguin of the Dallas Stars. We created new web videos for Aloe Care, 3M, Puzzle Piece Kids, ValvTechnologies, Fleetwood, CONTI and many other new corporate clients while existing clients such as Greyhound Lines and Hydrotex Lubrication Systems ramped up more projects than ever before.
